Nov 2014: With a nip in the autumn air, GCHWC members took to their kitchens and turned out in mass for our second annual chili cook-off and mini-swap meet.
For the first part of the meeting, everyone was treated to 10 different varieties of homemade chili. Entries included chicken chili, turkey chili, several versions of “chili con carne”, a Skyline chili clone and even a vegetarian entry. After much discussion and many trips back to “re-sample”, members voted to award this year’s top honors to TWO recipes (equal votes).

For the second part of the meeting, the club transformed the second floor of the Zion church into a mini diecast swap meet. With tables packed with diecast and deals to be found, everyone had a blast bargaining and trading to find their own treasures.
Look for this event to be even bigger next year!
